Promoting Environmental Responsibility, Sustainable Development and Green Campus Initiatives
MESSAGE FROM
At the University of Kamalia, the main objective of sustainability and Green Metrics is to promote a culture of environmental responsibility, efficient resource management, and sustainable campus development for the benefit of present and future generations. Through these efforts, the University aims to reduce its environmental footprint, conserve water and energy, promote greenery and biodiversity, improve waste management practices, encourage sustainable mobility, strengthen digital efficiency, and raise awareness among students, faculty, and staff regarding responsible living and institutional stewardship. Green Metrics at the University is not only a framework for evaluation, but also a guiding principle for continuous improvement in campus planning, operations, research, and community engagement. These efforts are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
